A way to access news that is becoming very popular, especially in millennials is Podcasts. Podcasts are a digital audio file on the Internet for downloading to a mobile device or computer. They are usually accessible as a series, which subscribers can automatically obtain.

Podcasts are totally free, so anyone can listen to them as they please. There are podcasts covering plethora of topics ranging from politics, business, and society, to comedy, sports, religion, and many more topics in between.

Listeners usually use podcasts while driving, working out, or any free time that is available.

Many listeners use a podcast manager. This is a piece of software that helps people find podcasts interesting to each individual listener. Podcast managers are able to do this by keeping track of episodes one has listened to and which ones they haven’t. If using iPhone and iOS operating system, listeners can use a podcast manager called, Overcast.

But if someone does not want to deal with a podcast manager, one can simply look at top charts podcasts. They usually consist of New York Times, The Joe Rogan Experience, or Pop Save America.

If listeners want a certain topic, they can simply search for topics with similar topics. For example, if someone is interested in science, they should subscribe to RadioLab. An article describes RadioLab as, “focuses on scientific and philosophical topics, taking a broad topic like football and looking at it from a number of different angles, some very analytic and some not so analytic.” Mr. Howard, an avid podcast listener said, “I subscribe to RadioLab, so I can stay up to date on biology topics.”

Podcasts are basically a way of a listener to create their own radio station, full of topics they want to hear. No more scrolling through radio stations, and the best part, it is all free.
