High school sports have been dominating South Ripley in the past week. Athletes have been training continuously in preparation for conference games and meets.

Varsity boys basketball conference record is 3-0. The Raiders recently defeated the Milan Indians in a hard fought battle on January 19. The leading scorer, Dillan McQueen, with 16 points was also named Homecoming King.

Girls varsity basketball conference record is 4-1.Senior Lady Raiders Julia Rea, Mariah Gentile, Kiley Sparks, Toria Tucker, Haley Bishop, and Cameo Hamm were recognized January 21 at South Ripley against Jac-Cen-Del. In the third meeting of these two rival teams the Lady Raiders lost 50-56 to the Lady Eagles in a hard fought battle.

The girls Sectional draw was January 21. The Lady Raiders will face the winner of the North Decatur- South Decatur game on February 2 at South Ripley.

The Lady Raider swimmers took on the ORVC conference January 20. They placed third out of four teams. The lady swimmers compete against Switzerland county for their last regular season meet on January 27. Girls swimming sectionals will be held at Columbus North starting February 1 and 3.
