Music videos are a huge part of today’s music culture. Pop stars are among the most competitive to get the the most amount of views in the quickest amount of time. Each view counts and they do add up.

Freshman Lacy Nowak said, “Stitches” by Shawne Mendez is my favorite music video because it is interesting and Shawne Mendez has an awesome voice.” Sophomore Skylar Scoggins said her favorite music video is “Today Country.”

Taylor Swift recently took the top spot with her “Look What You Made Me Do” video from Psy’s “Gangnam Style” video with receiving the most views in 24 hours. Swift’s video has broken multiple records with most of her videos.

“Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, however, is the world’s most viewed music video with a staggering 3.8 million views followed by Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” with 3.2 million.

Sophomore Mackenzie Reuter said  that her favorite music video is “Look What You Made Me Do” by Taylor Swift because it does have a good meaning behind it.

Lots of work goes into the production and business side of music videos. Each one takes a finely tuned team and management to get done and become certified Platinum.
