Senior Chad Turner has been playing soccer at South Ripley for 6 years. Turner has received many awards throughout his soccer career. In 2015 Turner was named Best Offense. Soccer is not the only sport Turner partakes in. In the spring you can find Turner defending the home plate as the South Ripley back catcher. Tuner has received awards for baseball that include 2017 Best Baseball Defense and All ORVC 2017. Turner has aided his team with 5 goals this year. “I’m sad that this is my last year to play soccer but I’m grateful for all the memories and friends I have made,” said Turner.

Turner is a role model on the field as well as in the community. Turner volunteers his time to help with vacation bible school at his church, special Olympics fire truck pull, as well as help champions together athletes. Turner is a student mentor to freshman as well. “Chad is always willing to go above and beyond for everyone in his life,” said Junior Jillian Scott.

This is the last season that Turner will be representing his school wearing the number 17 jersey. Turner plans to attend IUPUI in the fall and major in business marketing.
