“Hey, you want some hot cocoa?” says everyone during Christmas time (for the sake of an argument I’m going to forget that you just called hot chocolate “cocoa.”)

The holiday season sucks. No, it’s honestly not because of the happiness and spontaneous cheer people suddenly have but because people like me are forced to endure words like “cocoa” and “holiday spirit.” If one were to listen to conversation it’s almost as if December has its own language, which is totally crazy right?

The language for December is mainly Christmas and Christmas foods. This includes all of the cocoa you stuff your stomachs with as well as sugar cookies and gingerbread houses. You have your turkey and mashed potatoes and every other component that goes into making a Christmas dinner. You have the candy canes that you stick on the trees and the icing that goes on the sugar cookies themselves (because everyone eats the icing by itself at least once).

While you are inhaling bite after bite of all that high-in-calorie christmas food (an average sugar cookie is 400 calories… yeah) and opening your christmas gifts and flourishing under the christmas spirit remember that this is all apart of Christmas.
