It’s time to face it. Life is not going the way we planned. Me and everyone else in this school are doing something wrong. We are living a dreary existence based on textbooks, chromebooks, and homework. By now I’m supposed to have conquered the world with my sweet rhymes and also jams. I’m supposed to be out making dough and letting it flow. But it seems that just didn’t happen. High school got in the way of my dreams and now… Now I’m here.

When I was six and still cried over everything, I dreamed of everything. I had my life figured out. Everything was planned down to a perfectly perpendicular “t.” I was going to stop crying for one and, two, I was going to be rich: the best superstar the world had seen since Hannah Montana. Yeah, I know… My aspirations were quite large, but I was positive I had the means to live up to them. I had two feet to stand on, and a great smile. I was going to be more famous than Hannah Montana and by my rights, nothing was going to get in my way.

Alas, that didn’t happen. I admit, I may not have figured high school, and grades, and college, and everything else into my awesome equation but by now I don’t think it matters. My view on life and what I want to do are completely different. I no longer want ‘superstardom’ as a future. Instead of screaming fans, I now prepare myself for pages of ceaseless bookwork (of which I will never remember any of); instead of making the world rain with endless amounts of “dough,” I now look forward to a monsoon so big, I will be able to create my own swimming pool. This pool, I will soon call my college debt.

Yup. It’s pretty clear my views have changed. Only one concept through this chaos is certain, my amount of determination to become a child superstar, has not completely disappeared. I have decided to apply my determination to a field that would much better suite me. My determination for success has not dwindled in the slightest. I have implemented a chance of success in a chosen field of academics. In doing so, I believe, I have created a window of opportunity for myself and others around me.
